Over the years DCHA has paid for the installation of water wells in village areas that were lacking clean water. These wells generally provide clean water for approximately 40 people living in proximity to each other. The water wells are drilled to a depth of 100 meters in many cases. Then an 8 X 8 concrete slab is poured around the well head and a cast iron hand pump is installed, or an electric pump if power is available. Having access to this clean water is greatly appreciated by the local people who previously had to use water that was foul and polluted.

Steve Doty, Director of DCHA, inspects the clean water at the site.

Our local contact for the project was a local Buddhist monk who told us of the need for the water wells. The children are enjoying the fresh water bath!

Several families share the water.
