On our trip to Kosovo in February of this year, we met with Mr. Afrim Maliqi who is the Director of HandiKos, an organization of paralyzed persons in Kosovo.
He shared with us that they have a great need for wheelchairs in Kosovo and for medical training in prevention and treatment of pressure (bed) sores.
I mentioned this request to Denya Jacobs who is a home care nurse from Bozeman Montana, and she said she was very familiar with this problem and treats it often in her work.
Denya discussed this matter with Niki Marancik who is an intensive care nurse at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings Montana and they both agreed to go to Kosovo and provide this training. The plan is to make this happen in February 2014.
